Salomon Smith Barney Managing Director to speak on "The Outlook for World Stock Markets – 2000 and Beyond"
WHO: SMU’s Cox School and the Collins Economic Forum present A. Marshall Acuff, Jr., managing director of Salomon Smith Barney, as the second speaker in the 1999/2000 season. His address is entitled "The Millenium: Prosperity or Poverty? The Outlook for World Stock Markets in 2000 and Beyond." Acuff joined Salomon Smith Barney, one of the world’s largest financial service firms, in 1966. As a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Coordinating Committee he is responsible for equity strategy.
Acuff is a thirteen-time member of the Institutional Investor magazine’s All-American Team. He is frequently quoted by the media and writes a monthly column for the Japan Economic Journal.
Acuff is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts. He is a fellow of the Association for Investment Management & Research and a member of the New York Society Analysts of which he is a past director. He is a graduate of William and Mary College of which he currently is a member of the Board of Visitors and the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business Administration.
WHAT: The Collins Economic Forum was established by the Cox School of Business as an ongoing speaker series designed to inform business leaders on current affairs and to advocate economic policies that promise free enterprise. William Bennett, Former Secretary of Education, was the forum’s first speaker on November 11, 1999. Sam Donaldson and Chris Novak will be the series next speaker on Monday, April 17.
