MAGUIRE ENERGY INSTITUTE PRESENTS "INTRODUCTION TO THE ELECTRIC INDUSTRY"
(Dallas, TX) - The Maguire Energy Institute is pleased to announce its next seminar, "Introduction to the Electric Industry." This course is a must for people who want to learn more about the industry and keep track of how deregulation is changing electricity markets. The course will be held May 18-19, 2000 at the SMU-in-Legacy campus in Plano, Texas.
"Introduction to the Electric Industry" is a two-day course on the fundamentals of the electric industry. The course will present the basics on how electricity is generated, transmitted, and distributed. The seminar will focus on the competitive pressures and structural changes that are occurring in this industry as the result of regulatory changes. The class will review the history of electricity regulation and present the latest federal and state legislative initiatives. Players such as IOUs, Municipals, Coops, and potential new entrants will be examined. Trends and winners and losers in the evolving electric industry will be examined.
The program costs $700 including all course materials, lunches and breaks.
