HOSTS FOURTH ANNUAL OIL AND GAS EDUCATION INITIATIVE
The Maguire Energy Institute will be conducting its fourth annual Oil and Gas Education Initiative on June 12-15, 2000 at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
The course is exclusively for academics, journalists, and government policymakers. There is no cost to attend the program. Selected applicants are awarded scholarships for transportation to and from the conference and hotel accommodations. The goal of the program is to provide these three groups of professionals with an expanded understanding of the industry so they will integrate it into their own fields of endeavor.
The seminar presents a practitioner's view of the industry and gives attendees the "nuts and bolts" of how oil and gas are found, produced, transported, processed, and marketed. The sessions are taught by industry executives from organizations such as the American Petroleum Institute, Caltex Petroleum Corporation, Chevron Corporation, Colonial Pipeline Company, Energy Information Administration, Enron Corp., Enserch Corporation, ExxonMobil Corporation, Federal Reserve Bank, Fina Oil and Chemical Company, Halliburton Company, Hunt Oil Company, Parker Drilling Company, Pioneer Natural Resources Company, Railroad Commission of Texas, TXU Processing Company, Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Company, and Union Pacific Resources Company.
